Common questions from schools, businesses and organisations buying in volume. Buying a single machine? See sjcomputers.us.
Hardware and quality
What does refurbished mean at S.J. Computers?
Refurbished systems are pre-owned or open-box devices professionally inspected, cleaned, tested and restored to full working condition. They perform like new at a substantially lower cost — typically around half the price of new, and in some cases a third.
How do you grade condition?
Honestly and transparently. Every unit is graded before it is listed or quoted, and the grade is stated up front so there are no surprises when a shipment arrives.
Is every unit tested?
Yes. Each system goes through a multi-point inspection and full functionality test before it leaves us. We only supply hardware we would deploy ourselves.
Can you match a specification across a large order?
Yes — consistency is the point of buying this way. Tell us the processor, memory, storage and peripherals you need and we will hold that specification across the deployment, and repeat it on future orders where stock allows.
Buying in volume
Do you offer volume pricing?
Yes. Pricing is built around the quantity, specification and budget rather than a fixed retail list. Send your requirement and we will quote against it.
How do I request a bulk quote?
Email cs@sjcomputersmn.com with “Bulk Quote” in the subject line, or call 952 452 8884. Include quantities, required specification, delivery location and timeline.
Do you work with schools and public sector organisations?
Yes — school districts and education facilities are a core part of our work. See Education for how we approach classroom and district deployments.
Imaging, branding and deployment
Can machines arrive with our image already applied?
Yes. Our imaging system applies your standard image in around ten minutes per machine, so systems arrive ready to deploy rather than needing to be built one at a time.
Can you asset tag or brand the units?
Yes. Asset tags, labelling and branding are applied before shipping, which makes inventory control considerably easier on arrival.
We have no on-site IT staff. Is that a problem?
No. We plan deployments for exactly that situation — equipment arrives configured and ready to use, and support is a direct phone call rather than a ticket queue.
Warranty and support
What warranty do you provide?
Eligible products carry a 90-day technical warranty covering hardware defects.
What support is included?
Free lifetime technical support from our team, for as long as you have the equipment. You speak to a person.
What if a unit is faulty?
Contact us at cs@sjcomputersmn.com or 952 452 8884. If the item is covered we will arrange a replacement or refund.
Asset recovery and disposal
What do you do with our retired equipment?
We assess it, collect it, securely wipe every drive, refurbish what is viable and remarket it. What cannot be refurbished is disposed of responsibly. See Asset Recovery.
How is our data handled?
Every drive is sanitised and the system returned to a clean, verified working state before it goes anywhere. Nothing leaves our possession carrying your data.
Can you collect and supply in the same cycle?
Yes, and it is the most efficient way to do it — we deliver the replacement fleet and remove the outgoing equipment in one coordinated exchange.
Orders and delivery
How long does delivery take?
Orders are typically processed within 24 working hours and delivered within 3 to 4 business days. Large or custom-imaged deployments are scheduled around your timeline.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes, we ship across the United States.
How do we pay?
Once a quote is agreed our team confirms the order and arranges payment. Invoicing arrangements for schools, districts and businesses can be discussed when quoting.
